Legal Hunting Weekends/ Day Rides - as usual, we will be joining the
Brecon & Talybont hunt on most Saturdays and Wednesdays throughout next winter for
legal hunting. If you'd like to come along, please do get in touch with us -
it's a fantastic day out, and will suit any competent and fit rider.
Our hunt is a small and friendly group, and welcomes newcomers. Don't worry
about having the right gear or knowing the correct etiquette, we'll help you
along, and any jumping is strictly optional. The day
starts and ends at Cwmfforest, and horses and riders are transported to the
meet.
Our hunting weekends start on Thursday or Friday
night:
Option 1 - arrive Thursday evening for dinner.
Friday, we pair you up with a horse and you spend the day getting to know them,
with approx 4 hours in the saddle, enjoying one of our local trail rides with a
stop at a local pub for a well-earned lunch. Friday evening, enjoy dinner at the
farm, and then it's an early night before starting for the hunt meet in the
morning. After the day's hunting, you will be eager to return to the farm for
dinner and your comfortable bed, before heading home on Sunday after a leisurely
breakfast. There is also the option to ride on Sunday if you are a glutton for
punishment!
Cost is £330 per person, fully inclusive of 3
nights' dinner, bed and breakfast, one full day trail riding, and one full day
hunting including transport to the meet and back*. Extras - cap at the hunt
(usually £30), and drinks at the pub during lunch.
Option 2 - arrive Friday evening for dinner. On
Saturday, after stocking up with a hearty breakfast, we head off to the meet and
enjoy an exciting day's hunting, returning to the farm for dinner and your
welcoming bed. Sunday, we enjoy a quieter but more relaxing day on a local trail
ride in the beautiful Black Mountains. Return to the farm approx 4pm and head
off home after a cup of tea.
Cost is £290 per person, fully inclusive of 2
nights' dinner, bed and breakfast, one full day trail riding, and one full day
hunting including transport to the meet and back*. Extras - cap at the hunt
(usually £30), and drinks at the pub during lunch.
Option 3 - arrive Friday evening for dinner.
Saturday hunting, then return home late afternoon.
Cost £180 per person* plus £30 cap at the hunt and
drinks at the pub during lunch.
Option 4 - join us just for the day - £140 per
person, plus £30 cap at the hunt.
Wednesday Hunting - we are very flexible and can
arrange accommodation, meals, and extra riding to suit.
