Brecon Triangle Trail This 3 day trail runs from the Saturday to the Tuesday of the National Park Trails weeks.
Itinerary Saturday: Arriving at the farm around tea-time, meet the horses before enjoying a home-cooked meal and getting to know your fellow riders. Sunday: After catching, grooming and tacking up your horse, we ride to Cwmdu for lunch at the village pub, before heading up onto the mountains for some faster and steeper riding in the afternoon, enjoying fantastic views of the Brecon Beacons and Llangorse Lake. Return to the farm for a well deserved cup of tea and a dip in the hot tub if you fancy it before dinner. Monday: We are taken to the outskirts of Brecon where we begin our journey high up over the Brecon Beacons along a Roman Road with great views of 3 reservoirs. Lunch is a picnic by a waterfall deep in the forest. We finish the day near Talybont, where the horses stay, and guests are driven back to Cwmfforest for dinner. Tuesday: In the morning we ride to Llangynidr, crossing the Brecon & Monmouthshire canal (one of the first built in Britain) and the beautiful river Usk. Lunch is at the New Inn, Bwlch, followed by a fast ride back to Cwmfforest over Llangorse mountain where we catch breathtaking views of the National Park. After a cup of tea back at the farm, guests make their way home. To book this trail, email riding@transwales.com. |
